This is our 3rd homework from our IE102 class which is about writing essay about differences between two film Modern Times and Mercedes Benz M series production film.In that two film we can observe how the technology developed in 20th century, from beginning to end. We can saw number of major differences between old and new production system.
Firstly, there are big differences in work conditions of fabrics.One of the most significant problems that I saw in first film is lightening. There was poor light at fabric that workers can’t see each detail properly. However different from that at Mercedes`s fabric there is very good and shiny light that workerscan see each details exactly.
Moreover at Mercedes fabric car body’s speed is slow enough that workers can work on it properly and can control each detail but at old fabric speed is too high that even workers get some physical disorders as Charlie had.
Secondly it must be said that with help of technology there is no heavy work. And Mercedes Benz company can use women force at fabric. At film Modern Times there was very strong man responsible from controlling since work he does not easy for everybody. As an example for women worker Teresa Plaman who is responsible for carrying part of cars.she travel nearly 30km every day but thanks to the help of robots and technology there is no any heavy

And thirdly, different from old fabric measurements are absolutely correct at Mercedes Benz fabric. 90 % of welding is done by robots from 5000 points. And there are cameras that taking measurements from 56 degrees at just 10 seconds “everything must be perfect”.
In conclusion, although there is very important help of robots and technology, without man/womanpower there can’t be production. At least,there will be need workers to check whether robots work properly or not…
